KONZA Health Receives CMS Digital Health Network Designation
TOPEKA, Kan., April 21st, 2026 – KONZA HEALTH has achieved designation as a CMS Digital Health Network, a key part of the CMS Digital Health Ecosystem, advancing a shared framework for data and access that empowers people, improves care, and accelerates progress.
This achievement reflects KONZA HEALTH’s long-standing work to operationalize the goals of the CMS Digital Health Ecosystem through real-world implementation across access, interoperability, data quality, security, and actionable insights. This represents:
- KONZA HEALTH has electronically shared health data with patients, providers and health plans as authorized by HIPAA since 2018.
- KONZA HEALTH has made a full copy of a patient’s medical record available to any patient since 2014 with proper identity verification, believing the patient’s medical record belongs to the patient.
- KONZA HEALTH has provided one longitudinal patient medical record to providers since 2018, believing providers should have one longitudinal record for the patient that is near real time, de-duplicated and normalized.
- KONZA HEALTH was one of the original five Qualified Health Information Networks (QHINs) designated in 2023 by HHS and ASTP (previously ONC) to help ensure providers had a complete list of the patient’s medical information, not just pieces and parts of the record.
- KONZA HEALTH provides notifications to providers through our Rapid Alerts product. This alerts providers if their patients have been admitted or discharged from the hospital, if a mother has delivered a new baby and when a patient has an infectious disease.
- KONZA HEALTH has built and certified FHIR infrastructure for sharing health information among and across networks, providers, health plans and patients.
- KONZA HEALTH knows that quality measures are not correct unless they consider all the care the patient has received. Thus, KONZA HEALTH has developed new technology that supports payers and value-based care programs in closing care gaps and calculating quality measures.
- KONZA HEALTH has focused on data quality and data completeness by certifying all its members with NCQA Data Aggregation Validation, the highest level of certification for providers, demonstrating complete and correct data.
- KONZA HEALTH maintains the highest level of data security and has achieved HITRUST, Direct Trust-Privacy and Security and MARS-e accreditation.
- KONZA HEALTH is EHR agnostic, meaning the EHR system a provider uses does not matter. KONZA HEALTH can integrate with all EHR systems delivering structured and unstructured data.
As a CMS Digital Health Network, KONZA HEALTH continues to advance the Ecosystem’s framework criteria and collaborates with partners across the healthcare community to expand secure access, improve data liquidity, and deliver measurable value for patients, providers, and payers.
