Accessibility Statement and Digital Property Disclaimer
The KONZA National network Public Website is committed to making the digital property accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. Our goal is to provide an accessible digital property that conforms to Section 508 Guidelines and the World Wide Web Consortium's Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. Some existing content may not be in compliance, and some content may meet only the minimum required compliance standards. This will be resolved as we continue our efforts to monitor and maintain acceptable compliance levels.
We continue to make every effort to test the digital property and to remove barriers that prevent persons with disabilities from interacting with or accessing information made available on our website. If we become aware of content that does not conform to the WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards, we will make every reasonably good faith effort to make the content conform to the standards.
While we strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the digital property, particularly as it relates to content by third parties. KONZA is not responsible for ensuring that third-party content, software/tools, widgets, Add-ins, APIs, etc., which are not owned by KONZA but are otherwise located on or linked to the KONZA digital property, conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and shall not be liable if they are inaccessible to individuals with disabilities.
While this policy does provide the standard for individuals with disabilities to access digital property-based information, this policy cannot anticipate every accessibility need, due to known limitations of existing technology. There may be other circumstances, independent of technology that may limit the accessibility of KONZA.
Ongoing Efforts to Ensure Accessible Content:
The KONZA National Network uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 as its guiding principle. As we develop new pages and functionality, the principles of accessible design and development are an integral part of conception and realization.
We continually test content and features for WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliance and remediate any issues to ensure we meet or exceed the standards. Testing of our digital content is performed by our accessibility experts using automated testing, screen readers, a color contrast analyzer, keyboard-only navigation techniques, and a variety of bookmarklets.

HIE is the electronic exchange of clinical information among healthcare organizations. This bidirectional exchange of patient clinical data allows physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers to access patients’ digital health records securely and efficiently.
KONZA powers our HIE, and many others, in partnership with state medical societies, which includes more than 13 million unique patients and over 10,000 providers in 10 states (KS, MO, SC, TX, MS, GA, CT, NJ, LA, CA). Available to any organization in any state in the nation, the KONZA platform utilizes a secure electronic network provided by a collaboration of healthcare organizations.
KONZA connects to other health information exchanges and to the national eHealth Exchange, directly benefiting healthcare professionals and patients with KONZA’s delivery of unequaled, streamlined intelligence. KONZA’s goal is to improve healthcare quality, coordination and efficiency through the exchange of health information at the point of care.
Our HIE includes physicians, nurses, psychologists and other health professionals, as well as physician offices, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, behavioral health facilities, federally qualified health centers and other healthcare sites.
Patient data received by the HIE may include: a list of facilities where the patient was seen, admit and discharge dates, lab results, procedures and diagnoses, current and past medications, allergies, chief complaint, visit notes, operation notes and a patient’s primary care providers.
Our HIE connects with other HIEs across the nation. We also connect with public health agencies, federal agencies (such as the Veterans Health Administration), national lab companies and prescription monitoring programs.
Physicians and other clinicians securely share critical patient information at the point of care, supporting improved care quality and better patient health outcomes. HIEs enable medical professionals to meet their quality reporting obligations more easily under the emerging performance- and value-based payment systems being adopted by federal and commercial health plans.
The HIE allows healthcare providers to quickly access their patients’ data across disparate healthcare systems, reducing treatment delays and enhancing clinical decision making. Additionally, the HIE improves patient care coordination and transitions of care by allowing healthcare professionals to access their patients’ most recent test results, procedures, diagnosis, medications, allergies and more.
